Current probes for alkaline phosphatase (ALP) detection had been developed mainly by adding phosphate group to dyes, which would lead to indistinct performance when implemented in the living system as several phosphatase exist together. In this study, nucleotide adenosine monophosphate(AMP) and nucleotide guanosine monophosphate(GMP) was introduced into 2'-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)-benzothiazole-based probes, and high-fluorescence turn-on probes with superior selectivity towards ALP over several phosphatases, as well as high affinity, and low toxicity, were obtained.
